ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat) Department, also known as the Otolaryngology, department of the Satyabhama hospital, consists of professional doctors which high quality apparatus which, helps them nurse their patients with lots of efforts and care.


  • ADENOIDS: Adenoids are the small tissues located near the nose, these are of no use after 3 years of age. As the child grows these adenoids shed themselves. In case the do not shed themselves, this creates a lot of breathing problems for the child. The adenoids also results in snoring and noisy symptoms, moreover sinus symptoms are also seen in the children. This can be caused due to tonsils and respiratory infections.
  • SINUSITIS: Sinusitis is a result of the virus, bacteria or any fungus causing infection resulting in increment of sinus. There are various types of sinusitis such as Ethmoid Sinusitis, Maxillary Sinusitis, Frontal Sinusitis and Sphenoid Sinusitis. It is basically caused by the cold and allergies, or smoking or a weak immune system or small hair in the sinuses or a deviated nasal septum. The sinusitis can be treated by antibiotics but if not FESS (Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery) is done.
  • TINNITUS: The condition in which the patient is able to the sound which no one else is able to hear is known as Tinnitus, the sound may be of humming or buzzing. Tinnitus can lead to hear loss. This is caused by excess wax in the ear or high blood pressure or ear infection or pierced eardrum. Tinnitus usually do not need a treatment but if it makes a lot of problem then it can be cured with the help of a hearing aid.
  • TONSILLITIS: The swelling of tonsils is termed as Tonsillitis. This can be caused by strep throat or bacterial infection or viral infection. Tonsillitis can be treated with the help of antibiotics, but if these goes severe, then tonsillectomy (surgery for tonsils) is done.
